Wanaroo Market
After leaving King’s Park, we went straight towards Joondalup, for Wannaroo Market.
Now this is a market that is open every Sat – Sun, 9am to 5pm.
33 Prindiville Drive Wangara Perth
For fresh fruits and vegetables, get there real early.
But if you are looking for a bargain, reach about 4pm, and the stall owners will start to slash the price to let all the left overs off their hands, by the crates.
One full box of oranges, can for as as low as A$5 before closing for the week.
Items left during that time is still relatively good and fresh, comparing to that in Singapore.
Lattice is going at A$0.95 or less each when we reached at about 2pm.
We brought cherry tomatoes, lattice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and loads of fruits.
Had Vietnamese Pho for lunch in the market, and its loaded with bean sprouts and other vegetables, all for $4.
Side Events
Brought all the things back to the car, left them in the boot. And I shut it tight.
Thats when I realised that I left the car key in the boot!
Panic attack!
Tried looking for a number to call, but all the numbers were left in the car’s glove compartment. I cannot look into the car as well as its too bright on the outside and too dark on the inside to see any numbers of Hertz on the wind screen.
Quickly searched all over and found a piece of receipt from Comfort Inn which we checked out this morning. And the person who answered the phone was really helpful.
Told him the situation and he gladly helped me find the number of Hertz which I can call.
Whoever you are, from Comfort Inn Perth City, THANK YOU SIR!
Called Hertz, and was told that they will have to call RAC to open up the boot, and asked for my location.
Hertz: where are you now?
me: Wanaroo Market
Hertz: whats the address?
me: its somewhere in Joondalup, called Wannaroo Market. Priceville Road or something.
Hertz: Thats not good enough, I need an exact location.
me: I am in the car park of Wannaroo Market, and there is no lot number. It has red and white stripes on her roof.
Hertz: I am sorry, I need more specific information. Is there a landmark somewhere? Any bus stop?
I walked all the way to the entrance, no road signs at all, and told him, just send the information out to RAC and see if they know the location.
Reluctantly, he complied, and told me that it will cost me $100.
Gee… how can a tourist remember all these address in a foreign country?
Gave him my austrlaian mobile number as well, and was told that it will take approx an hour for RAC to arrive.
So off we went back to the market, bought a cup of coffee, and my phone rang, even before I paid for it.
RAC has arrived!
Apparantly, someone else locked his keys in the car like I did, in the same car park as well.
Signed the papers and out came his crowbar!
Pry open the door, pushed in an air bag and started pumping to fill up the bag.
Moved the crowbar nearer to the front, in goes a wire, pulled the leve next to the driver’s sit, and the boot pops open. All in 5 mins!
Found the keys, thanked the guy, offered him a drink, which he declined. And off he went.
30mins after the incident, and I am still having a mind block.
Suprise that my wife is still as cool as ever.
Anyway, rested more, and off we went to Yanchep Inn.
From then on, whenever I leave the car, the key goes to my wife’s waist pouch.
So remember, people. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KEYS IN THE CAR! It will cost you!
Sorry, I was too upset about the incident I did not take any pictures through this whole ordeal.
