my wife went into the delivery suite at 0250hrs on 30th January, and she gave me a call. I was waiting eagerly at the Kampung Java park carpark.
rushed over to the hospital and went straight to the delivery suite. I am excited. Saw my wife, in agony.
her dilation is only 1.5cm and she is already hurting. contraction is at 2-3mins interval.
this agony went on until 0845hrs when the nurses changed shift and gave my wife a jab on the thigh to ease the contraction pain. dilation is now 4cm, and contraction is at 3-4mins interval. it really hurts to see my wife in this agony. She even needs to mask to make her feel better, even after the jab! I seriously kinda feel that its my fault getting her pregnant.

look at the needle for the IV… ouch

even though the jab should have taken effect, her pain is still unbearable.
its until 0930hrs when the epidural was done on her. local anaesthetic was applied to her spine, and when she is having her contraction, a huge needle was poked into the spine and a “pipe” was inserted. That would have hurt like mad if not for the contractions (which hurts much much more). I am feeling so sad.
anyway, the epidural was performed and took effect. And wife is much more relaxed. she can even smile now.

seeing me looking tired and upset, my wife even told me,” come on, our baby is coming, we are going to have a baby soon, you are going to be a father!”. I admire her courage. It takes alot for a woman to go through labour. This, I can testify.
Time dragged on and the epidural finished at 1430hrs, and another was mixed and introduced Yet, the dilation is still only about 6cm, and the contractions are getting more frequent.
At 1750hrs, the doctor started asking my wife to try to push. Baby is already low and dilation is about 9cm, still 1 cm short, but we still tried.
as her hand was hurting due to the IV, I had to help her, carrying her left leg, and have to carry her up and support her back so that delivery can be done more easily. and in that position, it took us nearly an hour.
for the whole hour, all I could see was the hair of the baby coming out, and going back. having such a big item coming out, it must be hurting a hell lot.
At a point, my wife even started crying and requested that she wanted to go for a caesarean.
I replied, “dear, if xxx can do it, and she is weaker than you, you can do it also.”
with that, she pushed again with all her might.
at 1851, baby was finally born. at first, it was the head, followed by the shoulder, the body, and the whole baby came out.

The amount of blood on the delivery bed is amazing. Thats the most blood I have ever seen in my life at one go. and at that point in time, I really felt like crying.
Cry not because I am scared, but all the sufferings that my wife has gone through for me, for my family. Cry because I am happy that I am going to be a dad. Cry because my baby is healthy. Cry because my arms are sore after carrying my wife for nearly an hour!
watever it is, I am a dad. a proud dad. Thank you, thank you my wonderful wife! I love you!
yohoo!!! my wife is in labour!! dilation is 1.5 as at 6:45pm
she called me in the office at about 5:25pm and told me that she is starting to bleed.
me: so what does that mean?
wife: I think the baby is due.
me: water broke? pain?
wife: no
me: ok… then we dun go out and eat ok? I buy home, wait for me.
wife: ok
I have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on at that time.
told my colleague what happened, and she was like “what? bleeding and you are still here? quickly ask her to bathe and sent her to the hospital.. quick!”
called my wife again
me: eh… you better bathe and change and wait for me, we go hospital
wife: orrr, I bathe liao
me: ok then change and wait. Pain?
wife: no, then dinner how?
me: ok, I buy back, eat liao then we go ok?
wife: ok.
knn… we still din feel the urgency at that time man…
anyway, came back, bought her dinner, eat liao dad drove all of us to the hospital… and the most fucked up thing happened when we are at the hospital.
stay tuned for details.

Saw this guy, in a black shirt, wearing a white tie, with a huge bag, walking around Jurong Point in the afternoon. I find his dressing kinda weird though I cannot really say why…
Later, when I was going to the MRT station to meet my wife, I saw him again, behind the Boon Lay Interchange toilet…. selling perfume to a girl..
wah lan… those who have ever walked pass that area would know that that may well be the smelliest part of Boon Lay, and yet, he is stopping people there, and selling them perfume at that location… geez… is he smart or what?
go see doctor, doctor asked if my tonsils are normally large…. coz its huge now… either its swollen so badly, or its normally that large… anyway, I have a bad sore throat…
so off she goes, giving me 2 days MC and a hell lot of anti-biotics…
and off home I came…. without the medicine… nah beh…. cock-a-nathan…
nose leaking, limbs feels like jelly, and my head feels like the size of a pumpkin.
Nah beh, 2nd day of new year and I am sick… wah laoz
Went Marina South to see the fireworks and also to take pictures.
Was there with my colleague and he was holding the EOS 10D with a 70-200mm L lens. After positioning everything, boom, fireworks begins and his lens started capturing nothing but smoke, coz we are too close to the firing ground. quickly changed to a 28-70mm lens and the fireworks stopped. knn… we tot its over liao… lucky they carried on for the next 5 mins…
Me, holding the 300D with the standard 18-55mm lens works fine, just that the damn camera is too light and my hands keep shaking.
My wife in the car all the while coz the ashes are dropping on us like crazy.
After everything ended, the place was jam packed with cars. All in the queue. Just then, one grey coloured car tried to play punk cutting the queue, and lo-and-behold. he went straight into the drain.
