So there was my son, tearing up tissue papers into thin strips, again!
He placed all the strips into a bowl, and carried on tearing more. When the fan turns to his direction, the wind blew all the strips out from the bowl, all over the living room.
He picked them up, place them back into the bowl again, one by one, just to realised that the wind will blow them away again.
Next thing he does surprises me! He took a plate, covers the bowl, picks up the strips, place them in, cover the bowl, and goes on to pick up the next strip!
Wah laoz… kids now a days…. he is only 15 months old!

Pop diva Kylie Minogue diagnosed with breast cancer
www.chinaview.cn 2005-05-18 08:36:43
BEIJING, May 18 — Australian pop star Kylie Minogue, whose hit album “Fever” went platinum in the United States, has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will undergo immediate treatment, her management said before announcing the postponement of her Asian and Australian tours.
Minogue, 36, is Australia’s biggest music star, rising from humble beginnings as an Australian teenage soap-opera actress to international stardom as one of the world’s top pop singers and, most recently, as a flamboyant gay icon revered in Britain.
A statement from Minogue’s management said her diagnosis was confirmed this week during a visit to the southern Australian city of Melbourne.
“Whilst at home in Melbourne with her family this week prior to her Australian Showgirl Tour, Kylie was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” a statement said.
Minogue is the second pop star to be diagnosed with the disease in as many years. American singer Anastacia underwent treatment for breast cancer in 2003 after the illness was detected when she was 29 years old.
Kylie has been a promoter of breast cancer awareness and in 2002 one of her bras sold for 6,880 dollars (5,685 US dollars) at an auction to raise money for research into the illness.
Commentators have said that Minogue was prompted to campaign against the disease once her childhood idol, Olivia Newton-John, was diagnosed with the illness.
Minogue, who first found fame in the 1980s in the soap opera ‘Neighbours’ before launching a pop career which has seen her sell an estimated 40 million records, apologised to fans for the postponement of the shows but said she hoped to be back performing soon.
The Kylie phenomenon reached fever pitch in 2001 with the release of her hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” from the multi-platinum selling album “Fever.”
Over the years her career has hit rocky patches but each time Minogue, reknowned for her hard work and drive, bounced back.
She has had a series of high-profile relationships, dating in 1989 the leader of Australian rock band INXS, Michael Hutchence, who was found hanged in a Sydney hotel in 1997. Minogue’s “Showgirl Tour” was to open on Thursday in Australia before performances in Asia and a headlining act at Glastonbury, Europe’s biggest music festival, at the end of June.
She said she was sorry to disappoint her fans.
“Nevertheless, hopefully all will work out fine and I’ll be back with you all again soon,” Minogue said in a statement.
“She’s a pretty fit girl and a strong girl, and hopefully it (the cancer) is pretty early,” her promoter Michael Gudinski told a press conference.
Gudinski said Minogue had a “tough few weeks ahead of her” but had the support of all Australians.

Go get your COE first…. Certificate of Eligibility, that is…
so we are going to get a new President this year, and it MUST be before August 2005. Why the MUST? because the “book” says so…. why the late announcement? I have not idea…
Seriously, I think Dr Tony Tan or Prof Tommy Koh are good candidates for the Presidency. I like them….
If I am to choose, I will choose Tommy Koh…. why? He has a nice smile… and has a long list of credits to peace works and for UN.
But whatever it is, election day is just another credit leave for me…

Application for cert eligibility for presidential elections in May
By S. Ramesh, Channel NewsAsia
SINGAPORE : The Presidential Elections Committee will invite interested candidates to apply for Certificates of Eligibility later this month.
Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng said anyone who wants to stand for the Office of the President must apply for the certificate.
The window period to do so is from May 31, three months before the expiry of the term of the incumbent President, to not later than three days after the issue of the Writ for the Presidential Elections.
Mr Wong was responding to a question from Non-Constituency MP Steve Chia in Parliament on the timing of the next Presidential Elections.
He said the election could be held this year, anytime from June to August, depending on when the Prime Minister issues the Writ for the Presidential Elections.
When the writ is issued, the nomination date will be specified on it. – CNA/de
I seriously have no idea, why do bald man (or those getting bald) has to comb their hair that vigorously and trying to cover up the balding area.
This guy is balding from the front, and he combs his hair with a comb the moment he enters the lift, all the way till he exits. In the bus, he touches his hair, trying to cover the balding parts with hair from other parts. And that lasted throughout the duration of the bus ride, which took about 20mins.
I dunno if he carried on after that, but sheesh….
If its bald, its bald… let it be, dun hide. Not asking you to be proud of it, but just let it be, if after treatments and all are still the same. Let it be.
just like me… am fat.. so? went to so many doctors, dieticians, pills, exercise (hey.. I walk at least 2km per day and uses the stairs regularly… and if you have ever ate with me, you will know that I do not eat more than most people. Still, I am fat… not proud of it.. but let it be…
The unit next to my grandparent’s place caught fire last night.
No one in my family was injured, but the living room is now charred with soot.
The malay man who died has mental problems and this is not the first time he started fire at home. His unit was filled with things that anyone would have problems moving around the house.
Further, because both the man and wife are mentally unstable, they are unable to have any income. Water, electricity are cut, and they have to cook by burning newspaper in a charcoal stove. My grandma gives her $10 per day to live by…
I am glad that no one in my family was injured, but now, they are homeless. The house has to be renovated again before they can shift back in.

Man, 60, dies in Bukit Batok West flat fire
By Yvonne Cheong, Channel NewsAsia
SINGAPORE: A man died in a fire which broke out in a flat at Bukit Batok West Avenue 2 just past 10pm on Monday.
60-year-old Selamat Bakri was found with burn injuries and was pronounced dead by paramedics.
His wife suffered burns on her hands and has been warded at the National University Hospital.
The entire unit was already engulfed in flames when civil defence officers arrived.
They used a jet to fight the fire and managed to put it out in 15 minutes.
The civil defence said the flat had a lot of furniture and other household items, making it difficult for firefighters to manoeuvre while fighting the blaze.
Residents on the 11th and 12th floors of the block were evacuated due to the smoke.
Investigations are being carried out to determine the cause of the fire but police do not suspect foul play. – CNA/ir

I have wanted to get a replacement for it for the longest time, but have resisted due to its price.
P900, P910i has came and gone… alas… still too expensive for my pocket after the arrival of my baby.
Many people are speculating that somewhere in June 2005, SE will announce the P910i replacement.
Well… saw this in a forum… and I think it looks sweet…

I want! But must get it as company phone… else.. bo lui…
