god damn… it sure isn’t fun to be in a hospital… let alone having to stay there for 3 days….
the nurse handling my ward is quite pretty though… the night shift one especially….
and… Ward 44, Bed 4…. how nice!
I have to Opt out of the Dependent Protection Scheme if I dun wan it because it will save me the trouble of having to Opt into something that is good for me.
I have to Opt out of the Medishield Scheme if I dun wan it because it will save me the trouble of having to Opt into something that is good for me.
I have to Opt out of the Elder Shield Scheme if I dun wan it because it will save me the trouble of having to Opt into something that is good for me.
But when it comes to giving some of MY money back to ME, I have to Opt in….
So is this progress package something that is not good? Why all the convenience when taking my money and all the hassle when giving me money?

good grief… is this what is thaught in JCs??
I am glad I came from a Poly…

Pop quiz… has the Integrated Resort contract to any of the projects been approved??
Not that I know/heard of… maybe I am slow, maybe I am ignorant…. but still, I din know that it has been awarded to anyone…
That means that there is still a chance that no one will bid for it…
Now, everytime I drive along the AYE, before hitting up Shears’ Bridge, I will see loads of construction going on… For those who dun know, that is the exact p[lot of land where the inland IR will be build.
Wait… I thought the bid is not awarded yet?
YES!
It has not been awarded, but construction has began!
I must also admit that I do not have any kind of inside information of any kind on what exactly is going on there.
But being fenced up, cranes, big ass lorries moving earth/sand in and out, cement trucks, bulldozers… well, that’s construction to me.
So somehow, although the bid is not announced yet, internally, maybe its already fixed who is going to get it….
And there better be someone bidding and winning it…. else, its our tax money gone again….
Tax time is coming soon….
why? news regarding people evading GST/Tax are appearing on TV and news….
Singapore has already perfected the art of scaring her citizens.
example:
- Vote for opposition, and you the MRT wun open its doors at your constituency.
- Vote for us, and your flat will get upgraded (after paying $2k/unit to make the lift door open at all levels or paying a few k for a 5m2 room, and bearing with years of banging and digging in your estate.)
- Try telling lies to IRAS and this is what happens to you… (coincidentally, “increase of GST from 4% – 5% is just 1% increment” is not a lie from IRAS/MAS/Government to the people…. for goodness sake… 4% to 5% is an increment of 25%!)
Have you guys noticed that the CEO of Qian Hu Fishery, Kenny Yap, has tremendous exposure in the news?? be it in the TV or papers???
My take: He will be introduced as a new candidate for the upcoming election….

Yesterday, I was taking bus 243 from my house to Boon Lay Interchange, where I will change to the MRT to get to work.
Normal rate would be $0.64.
Proof:

It so happens that my wife was with me that morning, and she is one observant accountant.
She told me that $0.85 was deducted from the card. And it happened to her card as well.
I din really bother me as I din believe that the card will not anyhow deduct.
Came back to the office, after searching high and low, I realised that the to check your card deduction, you have to go through http://www.ezlink.com.sg/services.jsp
But damn! What was deducted today can only be shown tomorrow, and it will only keep the records of the last 3 days or last 20 entries, whichever is shorter!
So today, I went in and check, and lo and behold….

My wife checked, and it happened to her as well…
And to claim… you have to fill up the form, and go through all the hassle…

yes, its only $0.21 over charge… but there were at least 100 who has been overcharged (bus 243 is blardy crowded ok? And there are many people alighting and boarding along the route with 5 schools), and that would have been a $21 profit for EZLINK/SBStransit for a system GLITCH!
I dunno how many buses are like that, and how often this happens, but this… is shit…
For paying less, they can sue me. But for “stealing”* from me… they can get away scot-free, and I cannot sue them for deducting more from me…. WHY?
*note:
To establish a criminal offence, it needs to be proven the money was entrusted to the recipient for a specific purpose. In the case of a wrong funds transfer, no entrustment was involved, said Mr Singh.

The above is the same when EZLINK deducts extra from us without us saying they can. Hey… I follow the book ok??
So… who still wants to argue that EZLINK does not over deduct???
All the above makes me think of these:
1. EZLINK DOES deduct extra, be it intentionally or unintentionally.
2. The fact that I can only check the deduction only the following day makes me feel that they are trying to make me forget the incident happen, so that they can earn that extra few cents.
Look, database now a days are designed for simultaneous access and instantaneous updates, and can be linked to webservers. I dun see why they cannot do it after spending so much on creating a system that has been in use in China for the past decade.
Also, I would like to urge those people who took Bus no 243W that reached Boon Lay Interchange at 07:11am on 6th Feb 2006 (Mon), to check your ezlink transaction and file your claim.
