having so many bad news recently…. I found some pictures in my phone which were taken some time back…. that certainly cheers me up abit…
my son… using chopsticks… and using it the correct way somemore! And he is only 2 years and 2 months old today….

WTF is happening???
Just in my division alone:
8th Feb: one of the managers hospitalised for 3 weeks
22nd Feb: I was hospitalised for 2 weeks
21st Mar: a Senior Manager passed away
23rd Mar(morning): Colleague’s father passed away
23rd Mar(afternoon): a colleague hospitalised for Heart Attack
WTF is going on?!
It is indeed an Election year in Singapore. The ruling party has decided to pull the same tricks again, and this time, about 30% (just my estimate, may be more) of the residents of Boon Lay will be aesthetic!
As of yesterday (22nd Mar 2006), almost half of Bon Lay will go en-bloc (look at the below picture).

Blk 180-184 and Blk 216-220 (with the exception of Blk 218) will be in this enbloc.
“New” units (or rather units that could not be sold for years) will be given to them as their new home.
They will be shifting to either of these 2 plots of land:

Blk 675-678 (middle of the map)
or

Blk 986-990
I bet most people will be hoping to get the latter plot…
Why??
Well… the new Boon Lay Extension of the MRT will be smacked right at their door steps, along Stree 63, between Blk 651A and 649A.
And then, the empty plot of land to the north of 986A, is a brand new stadium, with a soccer field, and Olympic standard tracks!
But Upper Jurong Road/Boon Lay Way is a bullocks of pain during the peak hour traffic period. And its almost 1.5km away from the nearest market.
But seriously, resorting to such ways to gain votes is pathetic, IMO. This is just my view that this is some Election tactics, although Mr Lee HL has stated that it is not (who in the right mind would believe this??).
Which is the genre of advertisement that you will never believe?
Happy family going to NTUC?
Drink this beer and you will be surrounded by pretty girls?
Use this cream and your boobs will go up 2 Cup sizes?
well, to me… its all the instant noodle advertisements…
You tell me where is that big succulent piece of chicken thigh when I cook my maggie mee!
Stepping into the office this morning, I got the news that one of the Senior Manager in the company has passed away, after fighting against cancer for the past 1 year or so.
This is a really sad piece of news to me.
He was a good man, always taking care of those under him.
He was back at work for a few months after resting for about 6 months after his operation. Slimed down to half his original size, but still having a good outlook in life. I was glad to see him back at work. But he was admitted again about 2 weeks back, and had refused to let anyone of us visit him in hospital. Then now, the sad news.
And suddenly, it came across to me how fragile human life is, especially when I just had an operation just not too long ago.
I realised how little time I have spent with my family. All we have is approximately 60-70 years to live, and I have past almost 50% of that.
We live in a society where we have to spend at least 12hours away from the family for about 300 days a year, just to survive.
Thats about 41% gone to work in a year, excluding sleep. Add in 8 hours of sleep a day, and you are left with 25% of your time for your family.
Thats very little.
I want to see my son grow up, and be by his side when he needs me. Listening to him call me “Dad”, and saying “I love you”, hugging me, kissing me, and immitating our actions, learning along the way.
I need to spend more time with my family. I really want to, but I have to spend that much time away from him and my wife just to live mylife in Singapore.
Its sad, really sad.
I will miss you, Mr Chay, and I believe many in the company will, too.
Rest In Peace.
I have gathered a group of IT guys to do some charity work, and yes… FOC.
If you have any events, or need help with IT, Networking, troubleshooting or similar things, we can help you out, instead of engaing professionals who charge a bomb, emptying your pockets.
But this is for genuine cases where help is needed and for non-profit organisations or charities only.
Absolutely no payment is required, but of course, we can only do such projects after our usual working hours.
We can provide almost any simple networking equipments that you need.
So if you have any events coming, or you are from any non-profit organisation that needs such help.

So I was having breakfast with my family at Pioneer Mall this morning, happily.
Having been in a hospital and the need to refrain from eating certain food for the past week was killing me and I felt real happy that I can finally eat whatever I want.
Well, that is until someone came along…

Mr Cedric Foo.
Now, I won’t say that he did anything wrong, or pissed me off, but its the RC members who are typical horse-asses (马屁) who did did. But being their leader, he has to be responsible, some how. Thats how the private industry work anyway, but maybe not in the government sector.
What happened was that every patron to the Koufu Food court was queuing up for their drinks, until a group of RC members came along, cut the queue, to buy coffee, or tea, or whatever.
Look… there is a freaking long queue, and I have been waiting for the last 5-10mins for my turn! And the best you could do is to cut the queue?
What/who gave you the right to cut the queue? Is it stated in any legislation or rule or law that RC members has priority? Even if they are buying for the MP?
Who-ever this fella may be or what-ever position this fella may be at, he better be humble when he is meeting the people. He ain’t no different from anyone else sitting in the food court, other than he having a group of boot lickers serving him… he infact, is at the mercy of voters, people whom he will be meeting in a short while.
You may argue that its to appreciate what he has done for the constituency. But let me ask you this question.
How often do you see him (or rather all other MPs) doing this walk-about thing?
Well, I can give you an answer now. Its about once every four years. Or rather, every election year.
And just let me tell you that since moving in 3 years back, the lift breaks down almost once every week. What has been done? Repairing, yes. But its recurring every week. A broken washing machine has been sitting at the waste bin area for the past 2 weeks, and its still there. Cars are parking all over the place at the service road along my block, blocking traffic, sometimes to an extend of me not having a place to stop and unload my things, and getting a “letter of Intended prosecution”. So what has he done? And in cases like these, show what appreciation?
You may then say that he(she) is busy?
Look, Ms Yu-FooYee Soon said that being an MP is a Part-time job, and its a tough job.
But hey, you chose this job, so you better do a good job, even if it means no time for your family. You are paid handsomely as well, especially when its a part time job. And you are not on call for 24hours! And that amount is already more than what a typical household will earn in Singapore!
Coming back to the incident.
Surprised that no one actually said anything to the RC members, I spoke my mind.
“RC no need to line up ah?”
And back came a stare, right into my eye.
geez…. simitaichi? did I say anything wrong? And the best part is, no one else backs me up! wah lao! Singaporeans!
Luckily, they left with their order soon enough. I took mine, and went back to my seat, and only to see them pulling the act again, at the dim sum stall. And same thing, no one else said anything.
I gave up on this SIngaporean mindset.
I would seriously like to congratulate the RC members of Pioneer for doing a great job of boot licking, and being inconsiderate. Really. At least I know what kind of a committee it is… and what kind of activities are encouraged and performed in it.
3 cheers to the RC of Pioneer, hooray!
